We are pleased to inform you that the International Criminal Law Association is announcing a call for the submission of written papers for participation in the 26th traditional international scientific conference of the Association, which will be held at Palić from 12 to 15 June 2026. The general topic of the conference will be “International Criminal Law at a Turning Point – Reform of the Criminal Legislation of the Republic of Serbia.”

By choosing this topic, the Association continues to pursue one of its most important goals – the scholarly examination of the challenges faced by both international criminal law and national criminal law. These issues are becoming increasingly significant today due to the unfortunate rise in both the number and intensity of wars and armed conflicts around the world. Additionally, part of the conference topic concerns the ongoing reform of the criminal legislation of the Republic of Serbia. We therefore expect that this year as well, numerous eminent authors from both Serbia and abroad will contribute to the study of these highly important topics through their written papers, which will be published in the conference proceedings.

We invite all those who are interested to submit their papers to the Association’s email address (udruzenje.mkp@gmail.com) no later than 15 April 2026. All papers will undergo two anonymous peer reviews, and those that receive positive reviews will be published in the conference proceedings. Attached to this announcement are the Guidelines for Authors (in Serbian and English), according to which the papers must be prepared. Papers that do not comply with the Guidelines for Authors, as well as papers submitted after the deadline, will not be considered for publication in the conference proceedings.

            Besides the introductory presentations by prof. dr Milenko Kreća and prof. dr Milan Škulić, the working part of the conference was divided into six sessions, some of which were held simultaneously. In each session, after the scheduled presentations by authors, a vivid discussion took place. Besides the working sessions, conference hosted the presentation of the Central European Academy from Budapest (CEA), as well as of the Official Gazette of Serbia.

            The International Criminal Law Association bestows its gratitude to all the participants of the conference, as well as to those who helped with its organization. Particularly, we owe our gratitude to the institution “Ustanova Studentsko Odmaralište – Beograd”, for its traditionally warm hospitality, as well as to the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia, for providing us with the means necessary for printing and publishing of the proceedings of the conference.

Organizational Committee of the Conference

The general theme of this year’s meeting was entitled “Crossroads of international criminal and criminal law – reform of the judicial laws of the Republic of Serbia”, and the work of the conference was organized in five sections.

On the first working day of the conference, work was done in three sections: International Criminal Law, Judicial Organizational Law – international and European standards, constitutional rules and Works of students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, while on the second day, the agenda of the conference included two sections – Criminal Law and International public law and ecology, as well as a round table devoted to new judicial laws in the Republic of Serbia.

After the presentation of the report, a lively and very meaningful discussion of the conference participants developed within each section.

This year’s conference was attended by over 140 participants from the country and abroad, 51 of whom had a paper. The result of the work of the international scientific meeting is the Collection of Papers with over 770 pages of text. By gathering numerous prominent lawyers from the country and abroad, we showed our determination to find a way to resolve doubts in the sphere of science and practice and reform challenges with the strength of thought, will, exchange of experiences and arguments. today he faces criminal law, both international and domestic.

The number and quality of works, both by a number of already renowned authors and well-known names, as well as by authors who study intensively, improve and work hard on their scientific evaluation, undoubtedly contributes to the further strengthening of our legal culture and the further construction of the legal system of Serbia as an orderly state characterized by the rule of law. the rule of law.

Hereby we would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s conference, and to express the hope that we will gather in even greater numbers next year. We are especially grateful to the Student Resort “Belgrade”; as well as its part to the Student Resort “Palić” for its exceptional hospitality, as well as to the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, in the hope that our successful cooperation will continue in the coming years.

The Association for International Criminal Law is organizing its 23rd међународну научну конференцију на тему “Crossroads of international criminal and criminal law – reform of judicial laws of the Republic of Serbia”. The conference will be held in Palić in the period from 16 until 19. June 2023 year.

The association recognized the historical moment in which both international criminal law and the internal criminal law of the Republic of Serbia find themselves, and accordingly formulated this year’s general theme. We especially had in mind the new organizational environment in which the Serbian judiciary will work in the future, and therefore we decided to organize a round table on the topic of new judicial laws in the Republic of Serbia as part of the conference.

It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the conference. Conference participants who wish to present their written work, which will later be published in the proceedings, should do so by January 1. April 2023 send the title of their work to the email address udruzenje.mkp@gmail.com, while the entire work should be submitted by 15 May 2023 year.
